Founder: Julie Fischer Coaching LLC
In one sentence, what problem do you solve and for who?
I help humans thrive at work and in life through 1:1 coaching and group facilitation.
What's your story? Share how you got to where you are and WHY it is you do what you do.
I believe we are in an "un-well" being crisis that is impacting our work, our relationships and our lives. As a coach, I work with individuals and organizations to uncover what meaningful and sustainable changes will lead to thriving and flourishing in our complex world. I also talk about all things well-being as the Host of Nine to Thrive: The Well-Being Podcast.
What does BEING a FoundHer mean to you?
I am excited to be in a community of women founders who are using their genius and their magic in the best years of their lives. Believing that there is no time limit on making our dreams come true is transformative.
How do you support other female founders and women in business?
I shop at many local female owned businesses, look for female collaborators and hire female freelancers.
What are the first five things that you did when you were starting your business?
When I was first starting my business, I got an LLC, hired a website designer, posted on Instagram and Facebook, opened a bank account and I hired a coach.
What lesson or skill did you take with you from a prior job to help you succeed in your role today?
Relationships are everything. People buy things from people that they like and people that they perceive as having shared values. I have always invested in relationships in every job I have had and it was the most helpful skill to bring to being a soloprenuer.
What would you do differently if you were starting your business today?
If I were starting my business today, I would work on creating more video - we are living in an "attention economy" and those who get a lot of attention can leverage that attention to sales - what ever it is that they are selling (today this seems to be politics!)
What are three actionable tips you would give with other women who want to start a business or are just getting started?
Start before you're ready - Don't wait for the perfect website, flawless business plan, or complete clarity.
Begin with the simplest version: one offer, one way for people to pay you, one way to reach potential clients.
Build your support infrastructure first - Identify 3-5 people who will tell you the truth, celebrate your wins, and remind you why you're doing this when it gets hard.
Track evidence, not just metrics - Yes, monitor revenue and client numbers, but also keep a running list of: every time someone says your work helped them, every moment you feel alive doing this work, every skill you're building. When doubt creeps in (and it will), this evidence file reminds you that you're creating something real and valuable, even before the financial validation arrives.
